The Columbia County Parks & Recreation Pool District appreciates all the help from Just a Pool participants following the failure of the Metropolitan Parks District effort in November 2022.
We have a solid Board of Commissioners authorized by statute, currently supported by the Columbia County Commissioners and the City of Dayton.
We need to act collectively – not in a piecemeal fashion.
The elected Board of Commissioners are tasked to resurrect the community swimming pool.
The Board is asking community members to become involved in the process of helping our swimming pool effort by serving as members of the non-profit, Friends of the Pool. This 501(c)3 has the fundraising acumen to secure grants, donations and work with potential funders to raise funds for matching grants, planning and eventual construction.
Experience is not a requirement to serve on Friends of the Pool. We need competent people, willing to work, people who can follow directions and are not afraid to write.
Several community members have offered their time to engage Friends of the Pool and help the Board meet their goals. More, willing community members are needed. Many hands make light work!
Can you please share this request with Just a Pool people and others who would like to see an operational community swimming pool for all to enjoy and enhance our lives?
Fred Crowe is helping the Board of Commissioners. We hope you and your contacts who care about Columbia County, Dayton, local youth and bettering the lives of our residents will help us.
Thank you for your interest in support of the local pool!
