Attending: Dianne McKinley, Ted Lowe, Katie Leid, Terri Hessler and Lisa Naylor.
Dianne called the meeting to order at 5:00 pm
Add discussion of Larry Fetter, professional P&R consultant
Teri, moved and Katie approved, approved by members to add Larry Fetter discussion.
Meeting with Ryan Paulson, City Public Works, will be scheduled after the April 18, community meeting.
New Business – Community Meeting
What to do? Introduction by several Board members. Share a PowerPoint presentation on local pools with assistance from Dave Phillips to manage presentation, PC viewer. Lisa will contact Dave the week of 4/8/24.

Katie Leid introduced the possibility of applying for Innovia Heart & Soul and grant $30,000 stipend for a coordinator. Katie will investigate possibilities.
Cooperative Park Master Plan (from Deena) description of Parks & Rec Pool District (see attached edited draft) Board needs to approve.

*GOAL to resurrect the swimming pool
*Goal to sustain, operate and maintain a functioning facility
*Enhance aquatic recreation activities for all within the community
PRIORITIES
Develop an action plan to resurrect a dilapidated swimming pool using community input and contract aquatic professionals.

WE are a municipal corporation; not a 501 c(3)
Dianne met with The Club. The Club is initiating a summer program for aquatics/swim lessons in the Touchet Valley!
Previous meeting outlined the need for lifeguards, swim instructors through American Red Cross training; lifesaving, basic first aid, AED, water safety instructo
The Y will facilitate transporting interested applicants to the Y for training.
Doug Veen, JPP&RD has suggested that a Touchet Valley Aquatics Association – Prescott, Dayton, Walla Walla, Waitsburg be developed.

*We need an updated feasibility study, hire an architect: prepare a real design concept and cost estimates.
